About Us
PHG Technologies (PHG) began as MidWest Technologies (MWT) in 1990, developing software applications for hospitals, using barcode technology to identify and track medical supply items. The first product addressed patient charge recovery, which then led to comprehensive applications for materials management and surgery scheduling. By 1995, MWT had discovered a secure way to account for supplies used by patients, was to identify patients with barcodes and a patient labeling application was created. It was one of the very first products available to replace outdated card embosser technology.
In 1997, MWT became PHG Technologies and moved its headquarters from Rolla, MO to Brentwood, TN where it is located today. The patient labeling system began to expand its capabilities and became known as EasyID. By 1999 the healthcare industry awoke to the fact that many patient-care errors were the result of misidentification. Suddenly, barcode ID was in. PHG then turned its development efforts to maximizing the benefits of patient ID processes using barcodes. Today, PHG is totally focused on patient ID and forms automation products. Since the development of our first patient ID system, PHG has continued to lead the way with system downtime solutions, HL7 compliance, a simple-to-use form design tool (MS Word) and lower cost ID system alternatives. Along the way we have become industry experts in barcode technology and systems integration.
Today over 272 hospitals in 41 states use PHG products. We control our growth to maintain superior system implementation, training and on-going support. Our goal has been and continues to be, making your life As Easy As PHG. |
